Love You To The Starbucks and Back

Hi and welcome. Today I'm sharing this fun card that's perfect for the coffee-loving persons in your life. When I started this card, I was simply going to use the sentiment I love you to the stars and back, but as I was finishing the card, I thought it would be fun to add the bucks and make this silly.

I have a video that will walk you through the process of creating the card, it's super simple.

A few things I want to share, the embossing folder is by Sizzix from stash, and the enamel dots are My Mind's Eye Winterberry Enamel Dots.

It's Your Time To Shine

Happy Friday! It's time for a new challenge over on the CAS-ual Fridays Friday Challenge Blog. Boy, that is a mouth full, right? Be sure to hop over to blog and check out all the inspiration by the other design team members.  Today is my last post for CAS-ual Fridays, it's been two terms and it's bittersweet leaving.  I know it's the right thing for me as we are getting ready to start a remodel in our home. I wanted to thank Michelle for giving me the opportunity. And to all the Girl Fridays, you all are so awesome. Thank you for everything.

This challenge is photo inspiration, my favorites.

To create this card die-cut black cardstock using the Jumping Jacks Fri-Dies, die-cut  white cardstock with the small jack, run the small jack through a Xyron Sticker maker and then add glitter.
Using 110lb cardstock for the base of my card I add distress oxide inks in Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet, Twisted Citron and Squeezed Lemonade to cardbase making sure that my die-cut black cardstock lines up with the inked areas.  Adhere the black cardstock making sure the distress oxide colors show through the die-cut areas. Stamp sentiment and heat emboss with white embossing powder, add to card front. Finish off with enamel dots.

Celebrate!

Hi and welcome, everyone! Today I'm sharing a new card featuring the CAS-ual Fridays Celebrate Stamp Set and Jumping Jack Fri-Dies. Also be sure you join us over on the CAS-ual Fridays Friday Challenge Blog and join in the new challenge, 9th Birthday Celebrations!!  Be sure to check out the FREE stamp over below.

How fun are those jacks with that big bold sentiment, very retro, in my opinion.

Remember the FREE stamp offer I mentioned above here are the details.

AND

a discount code! Does it get any better?

So I feel like there's not a lot to share on how to create this card but here goes.

  • Pick patterned paper and matching cardstock. From my stash of paper I picked a pattern that has a  retro vibe to it, adhere to a 4.25" x 5.5" top fold card base.
  • Using the famous #80 white cardstock I did a little partial die-cutting with the JUmping Jack Fri-Dies and then cut three large and 4 smaller jacks out of coordinating cardstocks.
  • Stamp the sentiment on the lower third of that famous #80 white cardstock. Any ink will do.
  • Add fun foam or 3D mounting foam to the back and adhere to bottom of cardbase, over patterned paper.
  • Add die-cut jacks and stamp sentiment on inside of card.

So, once again, another quick and simple card.
As always, thanks for joining me.

Oh My Stars + New CAS-ual Fridays Challenge

Happy Friday and welcome back, everyone! Today I have a new card to share featuring CAS-ual Fridays Star Fri-Dies. Now I created this card for the new challenge over on the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog. The challenge is a sketch challenge, my favorite.  Here's the sketch for you.

This card is mostly die-cutting using the Stars Fri-Dies and colored cardstock. Once you decide on the colors, die-cut the stars, and add to cardbase following the provided sketch above. Use 3D mounting foam on the middle and layer them. Stamp sentiment and add sequins. Doesn't get any easier than that.

Be sure to link your project for the current sketch challenge for a chance to win.

Thanks for joining me today and have a great Mother's Day!

50th Birthday Bash Blog Hop

Hi and welcome, everyone! Today I am so very lucky to be celebrating a very special birthday by participating in this 50th Birthday Bash Blog Hop
The owner of CAS-ual Fridays, Michelle, is celebrating her 50th Birthday with a big bash and I've created three super simple cards to honor her big day.

You should be landing here from the very talented
and be sure to head over to
next.
If you didn't start on the
post be sure to head over there to start the party!
Remember to hop along each blog leaving a comment for a chance to win one of five $50 Gift Certificates!

I started with the adorable SOMEBUNNY Stamp Set and stamped the balloons on colored cardstock, the sentiment on a light gray cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black Ink, and that adorable bunny is stamped on #80 Neenah Coverstock, colored with Prisma Pencils and Copics. I die-cut the bunny and balloons using the coordinating dies, BUNNY Fri-Dies. I embossed a piece of #80 Neenah coverstock with clouds, added a silver thread to the balloons, adhered all the pieces using 3D mounting foam to the cloud embossed card panel, finishing off with clear sequins and adhere this to a 4.25" x 5.5" card base cut from #110 Neenah Coverstock

I created the second card using an "older" die from CAS-ual Fridays, any link die would work.  Using #80 Neenah coverstock I do partial die-cutting with the link die, I die-cut orange, pink, turquoise, and black cardstock using the same die. Using Versafine Onyx Black Ink I stamped the sentiment from the WHOLE SHEBANG Stamp Set onto the cover stock I partially die-cut. Using 3D mounting foam I alternate the colored cardstock in the link die and finish off with matching enamel dots. I adhere this to a 4.25" x 5.5" card base cut from #110 Neenah Coverstock

For the third card, I stamped those cute birds from the LITTLE BIRDIES Stamp Set on #80 Neenah Cover stock using Memento Ink Tuxedo Black and colored with COPICS and added a little shimmer with a Nuvo Shimmer Pen. Using the coordinating dies, BIRDIE Fri-Dies, I die-cut the birds. Stamped the sentiment using Memento Ink London Fog onto #80 Neenah Coverstock popped this panel up off a 4.25" x 5.5" card base cut from #110 Neenah Coverstock using fun foam, added the birds and second sentiment (stamped on a banner) using 3D mounting foam, finished off with enamel dots.

Notice a theme here? Yes, all three cards were created using the colors from the CAS-ual Fridays packaging!

As always, thanks for joining me and have fun. Please be sure to hop over to the CAS-ual Fridays Blog and wish Michelle a very Happy Birthday!

Spring Fever Challenge with CASual Friday

Happy Friday and Happy Easter! Today I'm sharing my take on the new CAS-ual Fridays Challenge, Spring Fever.  To create my Spring Fever inspired card I used the CAS-ual Fridays Pretty Posies Stamps and Posie Fri-Dies along with the Smile die from Smiling Fri-Dies

This card is so easy to make you could do a bunch of these at once. I started by die-cutting #80 Neenah Classic Crest - Solar White cardstock using the Posie Fri-Dies, then lay the negative from the die-cutting onto a stamp positioning tool, position stamps in the negative areas. close lid to pick stamps up, lay die-cut pieces into negative space, add ink to Pretty Posies stamps and close lid to stamp. I repeat the inking and stamping several times using Distress Oxide Inks in Wilted Violet, Carved Pumpkin, Picked Raspberry, and Twisted Citron.
Die-cut the "smile" using the Smiling Fri-dies, four times using black cardstock, and adhere together using a Quickie Glue Pen or Spray Adhesive.
Add 3D mounting foam to the back of flowers and adhere to a 4.125" x 5.25" #80 Neenah cardstock panel, adhere Smile with liquid adhesive.  Using white fun foam between card panel and card base to adhere the two together.  Finish off with three black enamel dots.
