Fun In The Sun

Hi, and welcome, everyone! Today I'm over the SVG Attic Blog sharing a beach hat and card. 

Have I told you all how much I love 12 x 12 Paper Kits, yeah? They can be so inspiring. The bathing suit paper is so cute and perfect for my beach hat. Yes, the big floppy beach hats. I used the Garden Hat 3D from Snapdragon Snippets to create the hat. I used quick dry adhesive on the hat and my trusty binder clips, as always. A little bit of ribbon and twine along with the gift tag from the JGW Just Sew Kit and popsicle sticker from the kit finishes it off. Finished off with enamel dots on the tag.

The dressmaker easel card from the JGW Just Sew Kit is so versatile. Back in December I paired it with the poinsettias from JGW Poinsettia Passion to create a Christmas card, so pretty! You can see it here, Christmas Wishes.

For the easel card I used my ATG adhesive and 3D mounting foam on the back of the stickers. The stickers from the kit add a few fun elements. Added a few enamel dots to finish it.

Form Fluttering

Form Fluttering, so silly. I'm back again to share a fun project that would be great for anyone who loves fashion and sewing.  Did I mention I'm sharing this on the SVG Attic Blog, too? I highly recommend you checking it out. The Inspiration Team has some of the most amazingly talented ladies.
The JGW Dress Form is from the JGW Just Sew Collection and can be found over on the Snapdragon Snippets Site or in the Silhouette Design Store. I've been wanting to create this dress form and in true Lisa fashion it had to be bright and happy. Photo Play's Rhapsody was clearanced at one of the big box stores for $2.50 per kit, $2.50. Back the truck up, we have a steal! If you've followed me for anytime you know my love for these kits. Sometimes when I've exhausted all the crafty mojo I can pull a kit and the ideas just flow, sometimes. The papers are covered in beautiful, bold colors, just what I was looking for. 

There's a wonderful step-by-step tutorial, here by the creator of the file. Please be sure to check it out when you start your project. The first thing I did was cut all the pieces I needed ahead of time. Yes, the pieces have been sitting in a box for two weeks waiting for me. Hey, it works. 

When I started assembling the dress form, I gathered all of MY necessary supplies and then went to it. I jumped around a bit because several pieces have multiple layers and I wanted to give them time to dry while I worked on other pieces. 

I'll never stop talking about these clips and how much time they save me. 

I decided to add a little texture to these accent pieces by running them through an embossing folder and BigKick. 

I added ink to bring out the woodgrain from embossing. 

After assembling the form I started adding a few embellishments.

The butterflies are cut using Simon Says Stamp Flickering Butterflies Die and Beautiful Day Dies. 

Here's the finished product. 

The wheels were turning while I was assembling the dress form. So keep checking back for things to come.

Christmas Wishes

Happy Friday, everyone! I'm taking over the SVG Attic Blog today and sharing one last Christmas project. Can you believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I still needed gift tags?

 The gift tag is from the JGW Just Sew Collection - Easel A7 Tag.

I love this tag because the recipient can display it so easily. The trick for this tag is one 12 x 12 piece of double-sided patterned paper. I used Photoplay's Mad About Plaid paper. 

The poinsettias are from the JGW Poinsettia Passion Collection - Poinsettia Doily Framed Card. To create them I used PhotoPlay's Mad About Plaid and resized two of them in smaller sizes.  Once I had them cut out I simply added Distress Oxide Ink in Candied Apple and Fired Brick on the petals.  Using an Embossing Ink Dauber and Gold Embossing Powder I added texture to the largest flower. It really popped those flowers off the tag.  I used the same green Mad About Plaid paper to cut the leaves and greenery. I flipped the pattern on the leaves, every other leaf.
