Autumn and Halloween Diamond Cards

Hi and welcome back everyone. Today I'm over on the SVG Attic Blog sharing a few cards I created using the Double Diamond Card from the JGW Welcome to Booville Collection.  This card is unique in shape and I really enjoy using it. Last year I created a Pirate themed card that would be perfect for a party invitation using this same card base, you can see it here

The envelope for this card is so easy to customize. I love that I'm able to use matching paper on it.

Here are the cards I created, one for Autumn and one for Halloween.

Here you see the diamond shape that makes this card so much fun.

The paper and die-cut pieces are from Pebbles Midnight Haunting Collection. You can head over to my blog for all the product details.

Using my Silhouette Cameo I cut out the Double Diamond Card base using Cardstock Warehouse Oatmeal Kraft paper, cut the accent pieces using 6 x 6 patterned papers from the Pebbles Midnight Haunting Collection, added black ribbon and enamel dots to dress the cards up a bit. I stamped the word Autumn using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. The matching envelopes were cut using the same Cardstock Warehouse Oatmeal Kraft paper and Pebbles Midnight Haunting papers. Card and envelope bases were assembled using quick dry adhesive. Embellishments were added using 3D mounting foam. Enamel dots are self-adhesive but I add a dot of quick dry adhesive.

As always, thanks for joining us!

Make Your Own Magic

Hi and welcome, everyone! Lisa from The Relativity of Paper sharing a sneak peek of three of the four new Mini Stamps Sets:  Camping Friends, Feathered Friends, In The Wild, and Rockin' Reptilian. I've used three of these sets to create a little sneak peek magic for you.

At the beginning of the summer, Craftin Desert Divas released an adorable stamp set for boys, Adventure Awaits. With three fun images of boys having extraordinary adventures: a wizard, a pirate, and an astronaut. When you take fun stamps like that and add these fantastic minis, you can create some unique cards. My theme for this card is Harry Potter. The owl represents Hedwig, the snake a couple of things; a Parselmouth and the Basilisk, and the deer represents Harry's Patronus.

CARD BASE:
  • 4.25"x 5.5" card base - 8.5" x 11" #110 cardstock scored at 5.5" and cut at 4.25" to create to top fold card bases
LAYERS:
  • Die-cut X-Press Blend It cardstock and patterned paper using the Shaker Tag Dies
  • Cut the patterned paper tag in half
STAMP:

  • Using Mini Misti or acrylic block stamp all images and sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
  • Color using COPIC Markers
  • Fussy cut the wizard
  • Using the swirl and stars stamp from Magical Wishes Stamp Set randomly stamp using Yellow and VersaMark Watermark ink

ASSEMBLE:
  • Adhere patterned paper half to tag and adding 3D mounting foam to the back of the wizard and place on patterned paper (as shown above)
  • Add 3D mounting foam to back of tag
  • Decide placement of tag on card base and stamp sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black
  • Adhere tag to card base
  • Finish with Sprinkles

Here are some products I used that are already available for purchase:

Scarecrow Kisses and Autumn Wishes

Hi and welcome, everyone! I can't begin to tell you all how excited I am about Autumn being upon us. Autumn brings so many amazing things, crisp leaves, chilly mornings, corn mazes, pumpkin carving, Halloween and Scarecrow Kisses
I've, personally, never had a scarecrow kiss but if it's half as cute as the Autumn Wishes Scarecrow it can't be all bad, right?

CARD BASE:

Score an 8.5"x 11" piece of cream cardstock at 5.5" and fold on the scored line. Cut at 4.25" to create two tent fold card bases.

LAYERS:
Using the solid brown cardstock cut to 4.125" x 5.375" , cut patterned paper (polka dots) to 4.00" x 5.25", die-cut brown cardstock using medium die from Crazy Stitch Frame Dies, die-cut green cardstock using the banner die from Mix-It up Dies, die-cut orange glitter paper using Scribble Circle Dies, die-cut scarecrow, acorn, and leaf using the Autumn Wishes Dies.

STAMPING AND COLORING:
Using an acrylic block or stamping tool stamp your image onto the scarecrow, acorn, and leaf die-cuts using Rich Cocoa Memento Ink. Stamp sentiment onto banner die-cut using Rich Cocoa Memento Ink.
Color using COPICS.

ASSEMBLING:
Layer brown cardstock onto the cream card base, layer patterned paper onto brown cardstock, layer brown die-cut cardstock onto patterned paper, layer green banner, orange glitter paper onto die-cut brown cardstock, using 3D Square Mounting Foams add scarecrow, acorn, and leaf.

Sometimes the supplies I have on hand are no longer available for purchase, and I will recommend a replacement product. When I recommend a replacement, it's always brands that I know and trust.
