Strokes of Pride + New Mood Board Challenge

Hi, everyone! Today I'm sharing a patriotic card I created for the current SumMore Fun Mood Board Challenge. I have to admit I went outside the "rectangle" with this one which is very unusual for me. I know it's a good thing to work outside our comfort zone and when I'm always scratching my head as to why I don't do it more often. Any-who...before I dive into the details of the card I want to share my inspiration with you.

SumMore Fun Blog has a bi-weekly mood board challenge, play along with the colors, the photos or just use the whole board. Hey, maybe you want ice cream on a boat, who knows! All we know is we can't wait to see what you create and maybe, you'll be the lucky winner of a $20 shop credit with SumMore Fun Online Store.

You might notice on this challenge both design teams are working with the same stamp set, Raisin Boat Strokes of Pride.
Strokes of Pride (10212-Z)

HOW TO

  • To create this card simply die-cut white cardstock using a large circle die.
  • To stamp the USA I used a stamp positioning tool ( it makes this super easy), close the lid of the positioner and lay a circle die-cut on top of the lid, hold in place with washi tape.
  • Open lid and position stamp on the inside of the positioner lid (like you always do) using the die-cut as a guide.
  • Stamp USA using red and blue ink.
  • Stamp the star using white ink onto kraft paper and fussy cut, add 3D mounting foam to the back and adhere to card.
  • Die-cut white cardstock banner and stamp sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink adhere using 3D mounting foam
  • Add red, white and blue enamel dots
  • Add a score line to the other die-cut circle to create a fold, add adhesive above the fold line and adhere to die-cut circles together to create card.
So now it's your turn to show us your take on the mood board. You have until July 19th to link up.

  2. I am loving the fact that your card is a circle! I never seem to think of making that shape for a card. The photopolymer stamps are great for bending around the shape of your card. Love it!
